Natural loofah — the dried fibrous interior of a gourd, not a synthetic mesh. It is finished with soft fabric edging and a stitched hand strap so it stays comfortable to hold when wet.

Because it is a plant, no two sponges are identical. Slight variation in colour and fibre pattern is normal.

Soak the sponge until it softens, work up a lather with your soap bar, then massage over the body in circular motions. It softens considerably when wet — if it feels firm out of the box, it has not soaked long enough.

Rinse thoroughly after each use and hang it somewhere it can dry out properly.

A loofah that never dries out is the one thing to avoid, so hang it outside the shower stream and let it dry fully between uses.

Replace it every three to four weeks, or sooner if it stops springing back, darkens, or starts to smell. Use it on your body rather than your face — facial skin is thinner and does not need this much texture.
